Siem Reap, Cambodia

Flew straight to Siem Reap after our 9 day stay at Hanoi :)

Our main purpose in Cambodia: to go see Angkor and visit the temples!

This is the ticket/id that you’ll need in order for you to visit the sites. Every time you enter the temple ruins, guards will ask you to show this to them.

a lot of tourists were doing this nose to nose pose with the stone face

had a lot fun in this place despite the undesirable heat that day. i think i lost 3 pounds from the scorching heat.

i literally bathe in sweat lol

Hanoi, Vietnam

The first leg of my Vietnam-Cambodia trip :)

I highly recommend going to Hanoi if you wanna see and experience Vietnamese culture at its finest!

colorful souvenirs

Traditional way of selling goods. You’ll see a lot of vendors wearing this conical hat and carrying fruits, flowers and whatnot via their “quang ganh” on the streets of Hanoi Old Quarters.

Stool + table = side street eating “viet way”

Hoan Kiem lake

St. Joseph’s Cathedral

During our stay at Hanoi, we took a train to Lao Cai province to visit the beautiful Sa Pa district where vast terraced fields and several minority groups settle. If you ask me, Sa Pa is the Vietnamese counterpart of Baguio in the Philippines.

Photo above are the colorful Hmong people.

rice terraces in Sapa

Take a 3km trek downhill to Cat Cat village and witness this cascade waterfall

Every weeked, the Hmong people gather in this open area to sell their hand-made crafts. This is a great place where you can take pictures of them but beware as they attack tourists into buying their stuff lol. Mind you, they are VERY persistent. They won’t stop with a simple “no, thank you” response. So keep the distance if you don’t want a mob following you around.

We also had an overnight cruise at Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay reminds me of Coron or Palawan in general. It has limestone islands scattered all over. Sadly though, it was raining when we got there so the sea was quite foggy.

Tam Coc. Here, you’ll go on a 3 hour boatride along Ngo Dong river. Yes, the lady rows the boat using her feet.  Along the route, you’ll enter caves and view scenic landscapes of rice fields and bedrocks. If you want peace and serenity, this trip is definitely for you.

My Favorite Hobby

Kaye, the Style Correspondent

What makes me a unique “Style Correspondent”?

I think the one thing that makes me unique already is the fact that I am not a Fashion major or anything close to that. What I can give you is something fresh and new to the palette. I am attentive and a keen observer. If I get to be chosen as one of the 8 Style Correspondents, all I can promise you is that I’ll do my very best, from the heart to cover the event. :)
